Thank you for considering using your expertise and skills with us at The Reading Specialists. We help learners succeed in school and beyond, and you would be an integral part of making a long-term difference in the lives of our students.
We are currently accepting applications for Ontario tutors who have certifications/credentials in education.
Here are a few details about the role:
- All sessions are 30 minutes, virtual and always 1:1.
- Paid training designed to prepare you to deliver our lessons confidently and effectively.
- Rate of pay is $30/hour.
- You can select the times you would like to tutor during the following times: Mondays – Thursdays (3:30-7:00) and Saturday mornings (9am-12pm).
- Tutors are carefully matched with students who have the same availability so you will see the same student each week. You will be their designated tutor while they learn with us.
- Coaches are independent contractors, which provides flexibility in the hours you work (defining your own availability). There is no minimum requirement for hours taught, but we ask that you commit to 3 months at your selected days/hours.
- We provide all of the curriculum and lesson materials for you. You are not required to create or design any curriculum yourself, but you will use your expertise to error correct and to tailor each session to your student’s interests.
- Our goal is to provide a warm, supportive learning environment for students who are finding reading challenging. We aim to provide a meaningful, enjoyable experience for tutors, families, and students alike.
